The twenty-one essays collected in this volume were written by Rüdiger Lux throughout a long career dedicated to the study of Old Testament wisdom and theology. Re-edited and updated to mark his 70th birthday, the contributions centre on diverse aspects of Old Testament wisdom, theology, and sapiential literature, illuminating from different perspectives to reveal fresh insights into ethics, matters of education, and how the world is viewed in the Old Testament. Practical-theological aspects are also pursued in a bid to draw together various sections of theology's individual disciplines.

Raik Heckl (Herausgegeben von) ist seit 2011 Heisenbergstipendiat der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft an der Universität Tübingen und seit 2013 apl. Professor am Institut für Alttestamentliche Wissenschaft an der Universität Leipzig. Rüdiger Lux (Von (Autor)) Geboren 1947; Studium der Ev.
