Space is an eminently philosophical topic. For just as evidently as we live in spaces and the spatial, it is just as unclear what this means. How do the spaces of the life-world relate to 'the spatial' as such? Are there preferred forms of spatial experience? How do space and time relate to one another? What distinguishes proximity and distance, movement and rest? The contributions gathered in this volume approach the philosophy of space from the perspectives of epistemology, practical philosophy and aesthetics, reflecting the conviction that space is not a topic of theoretical philosophy alone, but that spatial phenomena are relevant to all areas of philosophy. The interplay between classical and current positions provides an overview of ways in which one of the most inconspicuous of all phenomena can be addressed.
