Impressions of Protestant parsonages, their inhabitants and aura in theological and non-theological literature of the 19th to 21st centuries are collected in this volume, looking at them from a poetic perspective, but also from a theological and ecclesial view point. Events and experiences, expectations and disappointments, symbolic meanings, the brightness and severity are made vivid in a variety of ways - from historical and contemporary perspectives, from an external as well as an internal ecclesial-theological view, positive appreciations as well as evidence of disappointment and renunciation.
