In view of the modern loss of absoluteness, religion and theology can increasingly be understood as interpretation, which in turn can be regarded as an advantage for thinking. Katharina Eberlein-Braun examines the thinking of Theodor W. Adorno and Karl Barth and shows the similarities between the two of them. This way of thinking has consequences for classic concepts of the philosophical and theological tradition such as experience, liberty and conciliation, the main concepts for Adorno and Barth. However there is a contingency nature to these classic concepts, and because of this they are more in touch with reality and more up-to-date.
