Ten years after the transplant law was passed in Germany, the problems connected to this have not been solved satisfactorily, in spite of a great many discussions among scientists and scholars. The changes that the transplant law has undergone due to the stipulations of the tissue law, which were induced by European law, does give grounds for a new analysis of the norms of transplant law. This volume documents the papers presented during a multidisciplinary conference in which the regulations concerned were subjected to a critical analysis. The authors of these papers take a look back at previous experiences from the perspective of the law, medicine, economics and philosophy, including the international perspective as well, and also deal with possible reforms.
