Albert Hirschman crosses the borders between economic and political theory. He formulates the liberal perspective of Anglo-Saxon economics, deals with general socio-scientific research problems and studies the connection between the social structure and semantics. Originally a political adviser, he questions the qualities shown by certain thought patterns and argumentation structures. Against this backdrop, the contributors to this volume discuss various aspects of Hirschman's work.
