The governance of the rule of law in Poland is a major prerequisite for its joining the European Union, and will also be a major prerequisite for an effective legal integration of Poland. The articles collected here highlight crucial aspects of the development of the rule of law in Poland with a view to the EU accession that will take place in the near future. In addition to the changes in legal texts (especially in the constitution) of Poland, the authors also discuss cultural aspects. The main topics concern the effectiveness of human rights guarantees in Poland, the effectiveness of Polish administrative courts and - last but not least - the access of Polish citizens to courts
