Marianne Weber is known mainly as Max Webers wife, as the author of his biography and the editor of his works. Up to now, her own life as a scholar and in the womens movement has received little attention. References to her profound knowledge of Max Webers works, such as those found in the writings of Wilhelm Hennis, were largely overlooked in professional discussions. This volume is the first book to be published on Marianne Weber. The authors examine Marianne Webers life and works from different perspectives and deal with private areas such as marriage, family and friendships as well as her scholarly work and her work in feminist politics.
