Stefanie Hellmich deals with mobile security interests in the multi-jurisdictional Spanish legal system. She analyzes the basis for property law, including particular security interests in the local jurisdictions of the autonomous regions Navarra and Cataluna, the provision of security collateral on usurious terms, the "causa principle", insolvency law and the judicial execution law and takes a look at these in the context of European harmonization of credit interests law. As various attempts within the European Union for a direct harmonization of mobile security interests have failed, Stefanie Hellmich examines experiences with the interaction of mobile credit interests in the multi-jurisdictional Spanish system with a view to a possible harmonization of the Spanish legal system within the European context.
