Max Weber's correspondence during the years 1909 and 1910 gives a clear and in-depth picture of his personal and scholary development and his scholary activities in public. This volume thus offers profound insight into the development of the social and cultural sciences in Germany at the same time. The extensive correspondence focuses on two centural themes: the foundation of the German Society for Sociology and the conceptual and organizational preparation of the Grundriß der Sozialökonomik "This longawaited first volume of correspondence in the Gesamtausgabe appeared in 1990 and recieved the prestigious Amalfi prize in 1991.
