Encyclopedia with 805 alphabetically arranged subject entries. It describes the physico-chemical properties, performance, sensitivity, GHS and REACH classification of 415 common metals, non-metals and compounds that are used as explosives, oxidizers, fuels, binders and additives, as well as the thermochemical properties of 435 pure substances that can occur as reaction products. The encyclopaedia also provides information on the composition, performance and sensitivity of almost 300 explosives and propellants formulations and around 150 pyrotechnic compositions. In addition, civil and military applications for explosives, their chemical and physical principles, test methods, institutions and, finally, persons who have made an international contribution to the development and investigation of explosives are described. 100 illustrations, some in color, 160 tables, 228 structural formulas, over 1600 references to primary literature, 1700 entries in the subject index and the English translation of all subject entries make the book an indispensable standard work for all readers concerned with explosives, propellants, pyrotechnic compositions, fireworks and ammunition. The encyclopaedia is suitable for specialist training when starting out in the profession, as well as for further training in everyday use.
