This atlas combines more than 1500 images and succinct text to create a unique learning experience for students, residents, fellows, and clinicians at all stages of their career. It uses high-quality images collected over a 25-year period to highlight retinal anatomy, clinical features, differential diagnosis, and the full spectrum of retinal disease. The book is organized using a standardized format to facilitate information gathering, clinical correlation, and knowledge retention.  Simply Retina utilizes both traditional and innovative approaches to teaching and learning retinal disease. It provides a clinically relevant review of the retinal anatomy and highlights key information gained through common testing modalities. A problem-based approach to retinal disease is introduced by focusing on the clinical features encountered during the retinal examination. More than 40 clinical features are highlighted along with hundreds of examples of retinal conditions that manifest them. Differential diagnosis tables are included to help the learner make the correct diagnosis and initiate the most appropriate treatment strategy. Individual conditions, organized in traditional retina subcategories, are summarized using representative images and succinct text highlighting symptoms, clinical findings, ancillary testing, treatment, and prognosis. Simply Retina is a comprehensive review atlas created for a new generation of learners who seek timely, succinct, actionable information needed to diagnose and care for patients with retinal disease.

Dr. David Quillen is the George and Barbara Blankenship Professor and Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at Penn State College of Medicine in Hershey, Pennsylvania. He also serves as Director of Penn State Health Eye Center. Dr. Quillen has over 25 years of experience as a clinician-educator caring for patients with retinal diseases. He is an award-winning teacher and a recognized leader in ophthalmology medical student and resident education. Dr. Quillen has served as President of the Association of University Professors of Ophthalmology and as a member of the ACGME ophthalmology review committee.
