Before you is the Bible, translated and adapted by Ivan Ohienko. The collection includes 31 clear and interesting stories from the Old and New Testaments, retold for children 5-10 years old. Many years ago, this book was recognized as the best retelling of the Bible for children, and it still is. "Illustrated Bible for Children" will become a spiritual guide for the child, the first and most important step on the way to Christian life, will help lay the foundations of high spirituality and morality in the child. An interesting feature of this book is the rich illustrative series, which includes the original 1899 drawings taken from the first edition of the book. The text is given in modern spelling.
During his lifetime, the French artist Gustave Doré created hundreds of illustrations of biblical stories. His illustrations were used in various editions of the Bible in various languages in Europe in the 19th century, and later in the countries of North and South America. Gustave Doré's contemporaries criticized his work and doubted his competence as an artist. Nevertheless, his illustrations have withstood the test of time and still vividly reflect important biblical events.
