The Wax Child
Zusatztext
On a black night in 1620, Christenze Krukow melts beeswax into a small human figure, warming and shaping it beneath her arm. The wax child cannot move, yet it watches and listens as rumor engulfs her. It sees candlelit tenderness and shadowed whispers, forests and fjords, and the blaze of the pyre. As suspicion of witchcraft tightens its grip, it learns how impossible it is to escape.
