He edits <EM>George Eliot - George Henry Lewes Studies</EM> and co-edits the <EM>Year's Work in English Studies</EM>. He has authored and edited more than twenty books, including <EM>The Public Face of Wilkie Collins: The Collected Letters</EM> (2005).
