AMY GARNAI received her PhD from Tel Aviv University, Israel, where she continues to teach in the Department of English and American Studies. Her essays have appeared in journals such as <EM>Women's Writing</EM>, <EM>SEL</EM> and <EM>Eighteenth-Century Fiction</EM>.
