Kitty Alone is a romance and mystery novel written by Sabine Baring-Gould. It's a suspenseful story set on the South Devon Coast. The eponymous Kitty is a clever and sensitive young girl, Kate Quarm. Sabine Baring-Gould (1834-1924) wasan Anglican priest, hagiographer, novelist, folk song collector and a scholar. He is remembered particularly as a writer of hymns, the best-known being "Onward, Christian Soldiers" or "Now the Day Is Over". He also wrote many novels and short stories.
