The Adventurers is a travel novel by Gustave Aimard. Aimard was the author of numerous books about Latin America and the American frontier. Excerpt: "The sun, in the meantime, was sinking rapidly towards the horizon, the ruddy hues of closing day tinged with their changing reflections the summits of the wooded hills, and a fresh breeze agitated the branches of the trees with mysterious murmurs.
