Dr. Jonathan is a play by Winston Churchill in which a New England mill owner tries to prevent his son from going to war, only for him to disobey his wishes and return with a case of shell shock. Excerpt: "This play was written during the war. But because several managers politely declined to produce it, it has not appeared on any stage. Now, perhaps, its theme is more timely, more likely to receive the attention it deserves, when the smoke of battle has somewhat cleared."
